The Problem
Suicide remains a leading cause of death among young Americans, & suicide rates among LGBTQ+ Americans are significantly higher than those of the general population. According to studies, in communities where LGBTQ+ teens face limited access to mental health resources & high levels of discrimination, the rates of suicide attempts & ideation spike even more dramatically.
As a father to an LGBTQ+ pre-teen, I have a personal stake in combating this epidemic. In my ongoing work with the Gender Freedom Society, I have been a content creator for their Trans 101 social media campaign, providing free online resources for young people in the community. In collaboration with GFS' Instructional Design team as well as their board-certified Research & Info Accuracy Team, I created a series of social media posts on Canva & Adobe Photoshop. The posts needed to be colorful, easily-consumable, informative, & on-brand in terms of both mission & style guide.
The Solution
Each member of the ID team was assigned one portion of the overall Trans 101 vocab set, with a one-week deadline for production & review. I produced my pieces ahead of schedule & had them approved after only minor adjustments.

The social media campaign has increased awareness & engagement, as well as increased donations to be used for community support.
