The Problem
Suicide remains a leading cause of death among young Americans, & suicide rates among LGBTQ+ Americans are significantly higher than those of the general population. According to studies, in communities where LGBTQ+ teens face limited access to mental health resources & high levels of discrimination, the rates of suicide attempts & ideation spike even more dramatically.
As a father to an LGBTQ+ teen, I have a personal stake in combating this epidemic. In my ongoing work with the Gender Freedom Society, I have been a content creator for their Education & Legislation social media campaigns, providing free online resources on everything from basic LGBTQ+ vocabulary to political activism & eviction support. In collaboration with GFS' Instructional Design team as well as their board-certified Research & Info Accuracy Team, I created a series of social media posts on Canva, Google Slides, & Adobe Photoshop. The posts needed to be colorful, easily-consumable, informative, & on-brand in terms of both mission & style guide.

The Solution
I produced my pieces ahead of schedule & had them approved after only minor adjustments. Here are just a few examples of my work.
1. Pronouns
3. Binding
The social media campaigns earned me a shout-out and have increased awareness & engagement, as well as increased donations used for community support.
